Job purpose / summary
This role requires working with project teams and leadership to define test automation strategy and drive implementation. This role requires the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to help deliver the desired project outcomes on time and within budget. This role will involve extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, procurement and manufacturing.
Duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing design documents and user manuals which would effectively describe and providing clear instructions on the test automation solution to the end users who include testers and stakeholders
- Developing manual and automated test cases and configurations needed to meet testing of business requirements
- Being a hands-on guide to support end users when faced with technical issues and providing comprehensive training and documentation to enable the end user to use the automation without aid and confidently
- Providing effective and efficient support to the Plant Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader and Engineering Team Coaches, including input into the compilation of end of shift reports, root cause analysis, fault logging and data entry
- Requiring careful implementation of software code which considers the impact on the overall process in manufacturing and/or noisy environments
- Providing project scope, design, start up, and validation detail for equipment and control systems
- Providing onsite support in the field for components involved in the automation process such as installation, repair, and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical devices that communicate with automation software and protocols
- Working outside automation resources, for the automated site and establishing standards and practices for all aspects of the equipment design, operation and repair as measured by compliance and equipment downtime
