Job purpose/summary
This role will help shape the future by utilizing their knowledge and expertise of machine learning and big data to challenge the status quo and provide creative solutions to business problems. This role will be expected to gain significant domain knowledge across basic science areas to help make effective data-based decisions. This role will involve working with data across numerous product and customer touchpoints, undertaking in-depth quantitative analysis, and building models.
Duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Creating analytical models, such as customer segmentation and experience impact analysis
- Testing and controlling designs to evaluate business decisions and opportunities
- Supporting the development of advanced analytical methods by extracting and mining vast amounts of data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights for solving business problems or finding opportunities for client program growth
- Developing data mining, statistical and graph-based algorithms designed to analyze massive data sets for business insights
- Utilizing advanced mathematical models, operations research techniques, and strong business acumen to deliver insight, recommendations, and solutions
- Applying advanced statistical and computational methodologies to provide actionable insights and identifying strategic opportunities that optimize quality, consumer experience, and healthcare costs
- Performing advanced quantitative and statistical analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can be used to improve business performance
- Using advanced analytical thought to model techniques and algorithms, and tune, modify, and implement changes to address complex and different business problems/questions

- Exploring novel methods of retrieving data and developing innovative recommendations to management and senior leadership as a means for making data-driven decisions such as the modification of processes and policies
- Using exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and discovering opportunities in datasets to support decision making
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of concepts related to statistical methods and operations research and how to use them for solving real-world problems
- Providing applied science technical advice and analytic support to the management of external pilot projects developing new systems, algorithms, and technical approaches
- Understanding software skills such as business analysis in an analytical framework, development, maintenance, and software improvement
- Synthesizing complex qualitative and quantitative data to form clear, well supported, data-driven recommendations for non-technical audiences and present results to internal stakeholders
