Job purpose/summary
This role will be a key part of the technology team and will work with key business leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, and internal customers to execute the program/project vision. This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a strong ability to influence others. Involves working closely with teams across the company, including legal, engineering, and business owners to drive solution integration. This role provides the opportunity to gain general management experience by overseeing analysts and/or product specialists while working closely with various internal groups to ensure strategic development and profitable growth.
Duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Leveraging consumer insights, competitive analysis, and insights of emerging technologies to identify new product opportunities and enhancements
- Developing a rigorous approach to prioritizing product needs based on user research, marketing insights, competitive intelligence, business needs, and trends in technology and user experience
- Defining the overall strategy to produce a differentiated customer experience related to product or experience development for applicable business segments and product groups
- Developing business cases for new products which include detailed market research, competitive feature and benefit analysis, new product requirements and competitive advantages, sales targets and forecasting, and a launch plan
- Developing creative solutions in product, process, or policy that delivered business results
- Developing tight product requirements that can be used with engineering and operations teams in the creation of new product capabilities
- Defining a product launch plan, including identifying new opportunities as well as maintaining a rolling marketing roadmap of projects or iterations
- Being an integral part of the product development team to provide product management inputs
- Ensuring regional readiness for new product launches, such as marketing, documentation, pricing, sales tools, production/distribution readiness, and training
Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- Understanding market trends, customer needs, and building business cases for new product opportunities
- Identifying experience gaps through feedback from regional teams, operations team, and market research
- Ability to provide a deep analysis of existing product flows, contact reasons, and net promoter scores
- Building a deep understanding of how customers use products, and using this insight to lead the prioritization of future feature development to maximize growth
- Employing a rigorous approach to prioritizing online product needs based on user research, marketing insights, competitive intelligence, business needs, and trends in online technology and user experience
- Market positioning, product marketing and training, product performance management, development and/or management of third-party partnerships, regulatory compliance, process improvements, and technical support for escalated service issues and/or inquiries
- Ensuring clear communication and coordination across business, design, and engineering teams to manage the scope of each product launch for on time
