Job Description

Job purpose / summary

As part of a larger technology team, this role will be required to assess the current automation capacity as well as develop a roadmap for the automation of complex business tasks. This role will be responsible for gathering requirements, conducting business process analysis, and facilitating end-to-end cross-discipline leadership throughout the software development life cycle. Provide direction and mentor other business analysts to ensure the architecture domain is neither over- nor under- built when compared with current and future needs of the enterprise.  Requires a highly technical member who can work directly with program architects to highlight technical impacts to system design based on business requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading an automation team that works in cooperation with other automation groups to provide a strategic approach to identifying process automation opportunities
  • Developing new processes that contribute to the overall business strategy and meeting resource needs across segments
  • Creating clear, coherent and rigorous approach to lead working team from problem identification to solution design by applying value based and human centered methods such as design thinking, business process design and Six Sigma
  • Deploying problem solving issues that arise in day to day running of automation processes and providing timely responses and solutions as required
  • Supporting any production needs for the manufacturing areas regarding machine programming and working directly with operators to ensure correct placement of parts, materials and software
  • Performing a cross-functional role to facilitate business process changes with stakeholders in other departments
  • Providing technical guidance and support for others in the development or troubleshooting of process automation solutions and capabilities

  • Supporting new business activities including opportunity identification, proposal development and pitch execution
  • Providing detailed process mapping knowledge to projects that come from the business to support the project in defining and implementing the changes required
  • Considering additional factors such as license utilization, local data preservation and security policies when designing brand automation solutions
  • Analyzing and coordinating process definition efforts involving many technical & business stakeholders
