Job purpose/summary
This role will interact with stakeholders all over the agency including client services, planning and project management, development, design, and creative so will need to be a fantastic communicator. This role is part of a dynamic team of creative and strategic thinkers dedicated to understanding the needs of the user and delivering solutions that respond to those needs and become integral to customer and team success.
Duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing thoughtful and appropriate solutions to design challenges of all sizes by translating research insights into beautiful and engaging user interfaces that satisfy user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints
- Translating research findings, business requirements, and feedback from cross-functional teams to complete user experience designs on enterprise initiatives to deliver strategies and concepts that are relevant and innovative
- Generating user interface design specifications, presentations, and other documentation needed to communicate interactions, design direction, and ideas
- Creating world-class, user-centered designs incorporating business requirements, product learning, and customer feedback
- Creating visual prototypes that will be used to explain user experiences and application flow to developers and project stakeholders
- Providing a clear vision and drafting documentation, including use cases, product requirements, and high-level wireframes to support user experience design, tech development, and operations support

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- Having a foundational understanding of the user experience design process including staying up to date on user-centered design and usability best practices
- Developing thoughtful recommendations on information architecture, user experience, accessibility compliance, and use of graphics, mobile optimization, responsiveness, and another web best practices
- Taking a user-centered approach in crafting design solutions that meet both user needs and product strategy requirements
- Using business requirements, technical input, and research to assist in developing scenarios, using cases, and design requirements independently
- Providing strategic analysis on business processes that need to be streamlined to allow systems to achieve full functionality
- Prioritizing work and design decisions based on user needs, performance metrics, business impact, and team resources
- Making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functionality
